They say that good intentions are the pathway to hell. That is because what we meditate on becomes our reality. How so? Every time that we say that we are going to do something, but do not follow through, we create a vicious cycle of thinking and not doing...rinse and repeat.
1. Timing Is Everything
According to The Farmer's Almanac, the best time to plant seeds is during the New Moon. Seeds must be planted in darkness, so that the sprouts may slowly creep up through the soil and be blessed by the sun when they are ready, and not a moment sooner.
This month, the New Moon falls on Thursday, October 19th. In the coming days, think of what you would like to work on. Journal about it. Speak it to yourself in the mirror. Release the things that no longer serve you to create space for what's to come.
2. Make It SMART
Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Relevant. Timely.
Make it SPECIFIC. This is where you answer the Who? What? Where, When, Why, and How? Use simple wording. Focus on one thing.
Make it MEASURABLE. How long will it take to achieve this goal? How will you know when you have achieved it? What will you and/or your life look like when you've attained it.
Make it ATTAINABLE. Choose something that you are able to achieve within a short time period. If your ultimate goal is reaching for the stars, let your SMART goal be a part of the whole.
Make it RELEVANT. Again, let this be a part of a bigger picture. Connect your goal with something that you actually want, not what you think that you "should" be doing.
Make it TIMELY. Your goal should have a time limit. We are using the lunar cycle here. So, by the next full moon, your goal should be actualized.
3. Make it Tangible
Once we define our goal, we set an intention. The intention is a short sentence that we use to invoke the energy of our goal. It is the phrase that we meditate on during the month. Remember to keep it simple and easy to remember. When you say the phrase out loud, you should feel empowered, and those who hear it, will also be ignited.
Next, get a crystal or stone that you can carry in your pocket, Yoni, bra, or sacred space. Clear the stone by waving burning sage over it, or by placing it under running water (If you are using selenite, do not use water, because it will dissolve). If you do not have a stone, take a walk outside a pick a nice rock off of the ground. Once the stone or crystal is cleared, charge it in the sun for a an afternoon.
4.Meditate On It
Now, you have a stone that will help to amplify your intentions. Set a timer for 10-30 minutes. Hold the stone or crystal in your hands, breathe deep and say your mantra aloud or in your head over and over, slowly. Visualize what your life is like with your intentions realized. When you are out and about, keep the stone with you as a reminder to stay on track. Road Rules: No matter where you go, you can take this practice with you. Meditation can be done while the car is parked, on a plane, or even in your hotel room. The secret is consistency. The more that you do, the more powerful the practice.
You Are On Your Way!
Once you get clear on what you want out of life, your narrative will reflect that. The things that used to hold us back will begin to melt away. Before you know it, you are living YOUR BEST LIFE!
